Today, I tried to do a little experiment about Tarot cards. I grabbed my deck and picked the topic “4 swords yes or no.” Let me tell you how it went from start to finish.
First, I cleared my mind and shuffled the cards really well. I laid out a few cards, sometimes just one, sometimes three, like the guides I found online suggested. It feels more complete to do three, you know?
When I pulled a single card and it was upright, I took it as a “yes.” When it was reversed, I figured it was a “no.” It seemed pretty straightforward at first.

- One card upright: Yes
- One card reversed: No
But then, I started thinking about the Four of Swords specifically. This card, from what I gathered, isn’t always a clear yes or no. It’s more about rest, recovery, and taking care of yourself. So, I started to see it more as a “maybe” or “it depends.”
For example, when I asked about taking a break to recharge, and I pulled the Four of Swords, I felt like it was leaning towards a “yes.” It made sense because the card’s meaning aligned with the question.
My takeaways
I realized that using Tarot for yes/no questions can be a bit tricky. The Four of Swords, in particular, highlighted the importance of considering the card’s broader meaning. It’s not always black and white. Sometimes, it’s about understanding the context of the question and how the card’s energy relates to it.
It was a fun little experiment, and I think I’ll keep practicing. Maybe next time, I’ll try a different card and see how that goes. But this one, the Four of Swords, it’s not so simple as a yes or a no.
