7 Swords Yes or No? A Quick Review to Help You Decide and Play

7 Swords Yes or No? A Quick Review to Help You Decide and Play

Okay, so I got this idea the other day, right? I was thinking about tarot cards and how they can sometimes be a bit tricky to interpret. You know, all those symbols and meanings. Then I thought, what if I tried to make a simple “yes or no” reading with the 7 of Swords card? Sounds a bit crazy, I know, but I was curious.

So, I grabbed my tarot deck and shuffled the cards, really focusing on a simple yes or no question I had in mind. I won’t bore you with the details of the question, but let’s just say it was something I’d been mulling over for a while. After shuffling, I cut the deck and drew the top card.

And guess what? It was the 7 of Swords! Now, if you know anything about tarot, you know this card isn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows. It often shows up when there’s some sneaky stuff going on, maybe some deception or running away from responsibilities.

Here’s how I went about interpreting it for a yes or no answer:

My thought process

  • First, I looked at the image on the card. It usually shows a figure sneaking away with five swords, leaving two behind. This immediately made me think of a “no” answer. It felt like the card was saying, “Don’t go through with this” or “This isn’t going to turn out well.”
  • Next, I considered the general meaning of the card. Like I said, it’s often associated with deception and avoidance. So, if I’m asking a yes or no question, this card leaning towards a “no” makes sense. It’s like the universe is saying, “There’s something fishy here, better not.”
  • Then, I thought about the reversed meaning. Sometimes, when a card is upside down, it can mean the opposite. But in this case, the reversed 7 of Swords can indicate self-deception or coming clean. It’s like the card is saying “no,” but then it also depends on what you want to do with the no, you know if you want to find out why it is a no or do you want to fix it, it really depends.

After thinking about all this stuff, I decided that, in my case, the 7 of Swords was a pretty clear “no” to my question. It wasn’t the answer I was hoping for, but hey, that’s tarot for you. Sometimes it tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. I might decide to do a new read after a while, but I must first solve why it is a no, and make sure there is nothing fishy.

Anyway, that was my little experiment with the 7 of Swords for a yes or no reading. I just want to say, this is just my way of doing things, and I know the result may not be accurate. Tarot is way more complex than this, and there are tons of different ways to interpret the cards. But it was a fun little exercise, and it definitely gave me something to think about!
