Angels Tarot Reading: Simple Guide & Tips for Beginners!

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get into tarot for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to start with angel tarot cards because, well, they just seemed a little less intimidating, you know? More gentle vibes.

Getting Started

First, I ordered a deck online. I went with the “Angel Tarot Cards” by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine. They had pretty good reviews, and the artwork looked really nice, which is important to me. I’m a sucker for pretty things.

Unboxing and First Impressions

When the cards arrived, I was so excited! I carefully opened the box and flipped through the deck. The cards felt good in my hands – not too flimsy, not too stiff. The illustrations were even more beautiful in person. Lots of gold and soft colors. Very calming.

Learning the Ropes

The deck came with a little guidebook, which was super helpful. I spent a good few hours just reading through it, getting a feel for the different cards and their meanings. It’s a lot to take in, but I decided to just focus on a few key cards at first, instead of trying to memorize everything at once.

My First Reading (for Myself!)

Okay, this was the nerve-wracking part! I shuffled the cards, really trying to focus my energy and think about a general question about my life path. I’m not gonna lie, I felt a little silly, but I went with it.

I laid out three cards, following the instructions in the guidebook for a simple past-present-future spread. I got:

  • Past: The “Ten of Michael” (which apparently means an ending or challenge that I’ve overcome). Okay, accurate!
  • Present: “The Dreamer” (new beginnings, taking a leap of faith). Hmm, interesting…
  • Future: “Abundance” (prosperity and success). Well, I certainly hope so!

Interpreting the Cards

I spent some time reading the guidebook’s interpretations of each card and thinking about how they might apply to my life. It was surprisingly insightful! It wasn’t like a crystal ball or anything, but it gave me some new perspectives on things I’ve been going through and some things to consider for the future.

Next Steps

I’m definitely going to keep practicing! I think I’ll try doing a daily card pull, just to get more familiar with the deck and the different meanings. It’s a fun little ritual, and it adds a bit of, I don’t know, magic to my day. I am not sure I truly believe it, but It makes my day more fun!
