Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “breakup tarot” thing all over TikTok and, honestly, I was curious. I’m not going through a breakup, thankfully, but I figured, why not? Let’s see what the cards have to say. Plus, I love a good tarot reading, even if it’s just for fun.
First, I grabbed my favorite tarot deck – the one with the pretty watercolor illustrations. It just feels more… gentle, you know? I shuffled the cards really well, like, really well. I wanted to make sure I got all the jumbled-up energy out.
My Breakup Tarot Spread
Then, I laid out the cards. I didn’t follow any specific “breakup” spread I found online. Instead, I just pulled three cards, keeping the general idea of “past, present, future” in my head. I figured that would be a good enough overview for this little experiment.

- Card 1 (Past): The Five of Cups. Okay, this card is all about loss and grief. Makes sense in a breakup context, right? It shows someone crying over spilled cups, but there are still two cups standing. Classic “don’t cry over spilled milk” vibes, but with a heavier dose of sadness.
- Card 2 (Present): The Lovers. This one surprised me! The Lovers card is usually about… well, love. Partnerships, choices, aligning yourself with your values. Maybe it’s saying that even in the midst of a breakup, there’s still a connection, or maybe it’s about making a big decision.
- Card 3 (Future): The Star. Ooh, I love this card! The Star is all about hope, healing, and renewal. It’s like a bright light after a dark time. It shows a naked lady pouring water, symbolizing cleansing and fresh starts. Very promising!
After I laid them out, I spent a good few minutes just staring at the cards. I tried to connect with the imagery and see what feelings came up. I even jotted down some notes in my journal – just some quick thoughts and impressions.
Honestly, even though I’m not going through a breakup, this little reading was… interesting. The cards still resonated in a way. It felt like a reminder that even when things are tough (Five of Cups), there are still important connections and choices to make (The Lovers), and that ultimately, there’s always hope for healing and a brighter future (The Star). I think the key is to interpret not neccessary the cards literally, but to find the meaning between and behind it.
So, yeah, that was my little breakup tarot experiment. I think I might do this again sometime, maybe with a different spread. It’s a fun way to tap into some intuition and see what the cards might reveal.
