Okay, so I wanted to try out this whole “tarot for simple yes/no questions” thing. I’d heard about it, and, you know, sometimes you just need a quick answer without all the deep diving. I grabbed my deck and decided to focus on the Eight of Coins for this experiment.
First, I shuffled the deck really well. I mean really well. I wanted to make sure the cards were good and mixed up, no lingering energy from previous readings or anything. I cut the deck a few times, just to be sure.
Then, I held the deck in my non-dominant hand (my left, since I’m right-handed) and focused on my question. I won’t bore you with the details, but it was a pretty straightforward “Should I do this thing?” kind of question.

My Little Experiment
- Step 1: Clear My Head. I took a few deep breaths, you know, to center myself. I didn’t want any random thoughts messing with the results.
- Step 2: Ask the Question. I stated my question clearly, out loud. It felt a little silly at first, talking to a deck of cards, but I went with it.
- Step 3: Draw a Card. I fanned the cards out face down and hovered my hand over them until I felt a little… pull? I don’t know how else to describe it. It was like a slight tingle, and I just knew which card to pick.
And guess what? It wasn’t the Eight of Coins. It was a completely different card! I kinda stared at it for a second, a little confused. My thought was “Does this mean I have to do this all again?”.
So after some research online(cause’ I want to know what’s going on), I drew a card. If it came up upright, I’d take it as a “yes.” If it was reversed, it would be a “no.” And if I didn’t get the Eight of Coins at all? Well, I figured that meant the answer wasn’t a simple yes or no, or maybe the question wasn’t clear enough.
I redid the whole process – shuffled, focused, asked the question again – and drew a card. Still no Eight of Coins! I did it a third time. Nothing.
So, what did I learn? That maybe this particular question wasn’t meant for a simple yes/no answer. Or maybe I was overthinking it. Either way, it was an interesting little experiment, and it definitely made me think more deeply about what I was really asking and what I needed to figure out. I might have better luck next time, but it got me to stop and think for sure!
