Okay, so I’ve been messing around with tarot cards lately, and I got really into this “Eight of Wands” card. I wanted to see if I could use it to, like, actually do something, you know? Not just read about it, but use its energy.
I started by just staring at the card. It’s got these eight sticks flying through the air, super fast. It’s all about speed, action, and things happening quickly. I figured, “Alright, let’s try to make something happen quickly in my own life.”
My Little Experiment
First, I picked something I wanted to manifest. Nothing huge, just a small thing. I’ve been wanting to clear out my old junk drawer for ages. It’s stuffed with random papers, broken pens, who-knows-what. Total chaos.

I held the Eight of Wands card and focused on that drawer. I imagined those wands zooming in and clearing out all the junk. Super cheesy, I know, but I was going with it.
Next, I wrote down my intention: “I will clear out my junk drawer completely and quickly.” I kept the card next to the paper, like a little reminder.
Then, the weird part. Normally, I’d procrastinate on something like this for weeks. But I felt this sudden urge to just do it. I grabbed a trash bag and marched over to the drawer.
- I dumped everything out.
- I sorted through it super fast.
- I threw out most things without thinking too hard.
And… boom. Done. In like, 15 minutes. The drawer was totally empty and clean. It felt… surprisingly good. Placebo effect? Maybe. But I also felt like the energy of the card helped give me that extra push.
It wasn’t magic, obviously. I still had to physically do the work. But the Eight of Wands, for me, became this symbol of getting things done, of taking action now instead of later. I think the key was focusing on getting something done with the intention of speed and that is exactly how i felt when using the eight of wands.
I’m going to keep experimenting with this. I think I might even use a bullet journal to record all my intentions and actions, and maybe even how i felt before and after. Maybe try it with other cards, other intentions. It’s kind of fun, like a little game you play with yourself. And hey, if it helps me get stuff done, I’m all for it!
