Okay, so yesterday I got this wild idea to try giving myself a free card reading, but with regular playing cards instead of tarot. I’ve always been a bit curious about divination stuff, but never really tried it out. So I thought, why not? It’s free and it seemed like a fun experiment.
First, I grabbed a deck of cards from the drawer – you know, the ones we use for family game night. I gave them a good shuffle while thinking about a question I wanted some insight on. I kept it simple: “What should I focus on this week to improve my overall well-being?”
Then, I spread the cards out on the table face down. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to clear my mind. I hovered my hand over the cards and just went with my gut, picking out three cards from different parts of the spread.

- The first card I flipped over was the 7 of Hearts. I did a quick online search, yeah, used my phone for that, to see what it might mean. Apparently, hearts are about emotions and relationships, and the number 7 often relates to introspection. So, I took that as a sign to focus on my emotional well-being and maybe do some self-reflection.
- Next, I picked the King of Spades. Spades are supposed to represent challenges and intellect, and the King, well, that’s a leadership role, right? I figured this meant I needed to take charge of some challenges in my life, maybe tackle that work project I’ve been putting off.
- Lastly, I got the 2 of Diamonds. Diamonds are all about material stuff and values. The 2, from what I read, is about partnerships and balance. This one got me thinking about my finances and maybe finding a better way to balance my spending and saving.
Putting it all together, my little reading suggested I focus on my emotional well-being through self-reflection, take charge of challenges, and find balance in my financial life. Honestly, it was a pretty cool experience! It wasn’t some mystical revelation or anything, but it definitely got me thinking about things from a different perspective.
I actually took some action based on the reading. I started a daily journaling habit to reflect on my feelings. I made a plan to finally tackle that work project. And I downloaded a budget app to track my expenses.
Who knows if it was just coincidence or something more, but my little experiment with playing card readings was definitely a positive experience. It was fun, easy, and actually pushed me to make some positive changes. I might just do it again sometime!
