Okay, so yesterday I really got into this whole tarot thing, specifically the Page of Wands in the “past” position. I’ve been feeling a bit stuck lately, and I thought, why not give this a try? I grabbed my tarot deck – it’s a pretty standard Rider-Waite deck, nothing fancy – and started by just shuffling the cards. I shuffled them a lot, trying to clear my mind and focus on what I wanted to know about my past.
After shuffling, I cut the deck into three piles and then put them back together. I laid out three cards face down in a row from left to right, which is supposed to represent past, present, and future. The first card on the left would be my “past” card.
The Reveal
I flipped over the first card, and bam – Page of Wands. It was a picture of a young dude, looking all hopeful and stuff, holding a big stick. I looked it up in the little booklet that came with the deck, and it talks about new beginnings, creativity, and having a ton of energy.

Now, thinking about my past, it kinda made sense. I used to be way more adventurous, always starting new projects, even if I didn’t always finish them. I was full of ideas and really eager to try new things. Like, I remember that time I tried to learn guitar, or when I was super into painting for like, a month. There was also that phase where I was convinced I was going to start a blog – hah, good times.
Digging Deeper
I spent some time really looking at the card, trying to see what else I could get from it. I noticed the guy on the card is looking off into the distance, like he’s dreaming about the future. That really hit me. I used to be such a dreamer, always thinking about what I wanted to do next.
- New Beginnings: This really resonated. I definitely had a lot of “new beginnings” in the past. New hobbies, new friend groups, new ideas for what I wanted to do with my life.
- Creativity: I was for sure more creative back then. I wrote poems, made up stories and even tried to design a board game once!
- Energy: I had way more energy. I could stay up late working on something I was excited about and then wake up early the next day ready to go.
So, seeing the Page of Wands as my “past” card was a real eye-opener. It reminded me of who I used to be and how much I’ve changed. It also made me think about how I might be able to bring some of that energy and creativity back into my life now. It was a cool experience, and I think I’m going to keep exploring this tarot stuff. Maybe I’ll even try to be more like that Page of Wands guy again.
