Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with my tarot deck and get a feel for someone’s feelings. I decided to focus on the Seven of Cups reversed, because that card’s always been a bit tricky for me. It’s all about choices, dreams, sometimes illusions… but reversed? That’s where I get a little fuzzy.
First, I grounded myself. I like to do this by just sitting quietly for a few minutes, focusing on my breath, you know, the usual. Then I shuffled my deck while thinking about the person in question. I didn’t have a specific question in mind, more like a general “What’s their vibe towards me right now?” kind of feeling.
I cut the deck and flipped over the top card… and boom, Seven of Cups reversed. I sat with it for a bit. I looked at the imagery – those cups, usually overflowing with options, now upside down. I thought, what am I getting from this image?.

Here’s what I jotted down in my notebook:
- Clarity: Instead of being overwhelmed by choices, maybe they’re actually feeling more clear about what they want. Like the fog is lifting.
- Focus: It’s not about daydreaming anymore. Maybe they’re ready to actually do something, to pick a path and stick with it.
- Disillusionment: This is a big one. Maybe they’re realizing that some of those “dream” options weren’t so great after all. Like a wake-up call.
- Avoidance: It is also about avoiding something important.
I realized that, for this particular person, it probably meant they were finally seeing things (and me) more clearly. They might have had some fantasies or expectations that weren’t realistic, and now they’re coming back down to earth. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing, just…more grounded. More real.
It also helped me to see that maybe I was projecting some of my own “Seven of Cups” energy onto them – expecting them to be confused or indecisive. So, it was a good reminder to check myself, too!
After the card reading, I want to have a deep and clear conversion with this person and figure out their real feelings.
Overall, it was a pretty insightful little exercise. I learned that the Seven of Cups reversed isn’t always negative. It can be about gaining clarity and focus, even if it means letting go of some illusions along the way.
