Okay, so the other day, I started looking into this “431” thing. It kept popping up all over the place, and I was like, “What’s the deal with this number?” Turns out, it’s not just a number, it’s a part number, specifically for Ford cars. Who knew?
So, I dug a little deeper. Found out it’s linked to something called a “Valve Assembly.” Now, I’m no car expert, but I figured it must be important if it has its own special number, right? I started seeing this code “FC4Z-2B431-B” and “FC4Z-2B431-D” all over these car parts websites. Apparently, they’re different versions of the same thing.
- I saw that one place was selling the “B” version for like 683 bucks, and another had the “D” one for 947!
- And get this, one site listed the MSRP at just a dollar. A dollar! I doubt that’s the real price, though.
Then, I stumbled upon this whole other rabbit hole about the “2B” part of the code. Apparently, “2B” is a common abbreviation, and there’s a whole list of what it could mean. But in this case, it’s probably just part of Ford’s weird naming system for car parts.

Anyway, I spent a good chunk of my afternoon trying to make sense of all this. I checked out a bunch of websites that sell these parts, and they all seemed legit. They talked about genuine OEM parts and how they fit perfectly and all that jazz. One site even had an address in Saltillo, Mississippi. I guess that’s where they ship from or something.
So yeah, that’s my 431 adventure. I still don’t know exactly how this Valve Assembly works, but I learned a lot about Ford part numbers and online auto parts stores. It’s a whole world out there that I never knew existed. Who knew online auto parts shopping could be so interesting? Maybe I should look into getting a Ford just so I can use all this newfound knowledge. Just kidding… unless?
